Spring Fling!

What a day!

Here, we see Rune 1.2 seconds before she sprang for the "invisa-squirrels"...

It was an incredible spring day today. Luckily, I had the day off work, so I was able to spend the entire day outdoors taking full advantage of it all. Rune, Ido and the Monk were in turn able to take full advantage of my chuck-it abilities. Meanwhile, I took further advantage of them with my camera...

Ido kept rolling through all the flowers, it was difficult to get her to remain still for a photo among ones that were not all flattened and plastered to the ground...

Awh.

Rune sez: "This spring thing rocks, dude....there be squirrels everywhere!"

We hung out with a candidate for world's cutest today...his name is 'Scruffy'...

Wing Nut says...

Wahooo!

Introductions are in order....

The crew is as follows..... 2.5 dogs, 1 cat, 1 clever little caique, a day gecko without much car insurance advice, and 36 snakes.

Rune: She has the attention span of a hummingbird on crack, but lacks the enthusiasm. As a result, many balls are lost in the fields of travel, due to her lack of focus: "Ooh, got the ball! Wait--whats that? A cloud??" ...ball is dropped. "Oh look! A blade of grass! How unusual!" ...ball is left behind. "Hey mom, a blade of grass!" ...Rune returns, sans ball, as Ido, Monkey and I are forced to scavenge for wherever she dropped it along the way.

Her obsessions include: watching kitties, chasing/eyeballing invisible squirrels, keeping The Fish in order, and swimming.

Idolon: What Rune lacks in enthusiasm, Ido makes up for tenfold. If you can't throw something for her to retrieve, you're of no use to her. She's a fetching machine. She's also a rough-n-tumble instigator, a pirating thief of balls and frisbees, and smart as a whip. Very petite for her breed, not to mention merle, I get the "Ooh what a purdy little aussie," a lot. At this, Ido simply rolls her eyes...

Monkey: aka, 'The Pugaranian.' Useless as they come. But she makes up for it in heaps of stubborn, hard-headed, rotten cute-ness. Don't let that cuddle-wuddly, cute n' fuzzy, curly-tailed exterior fool you...she's a demon in disguise! ...And the self-elected defender of our home territory. Really, to see all four pounds of her charge something head on, wailing like a banshee high on helium, is a sight to guffaw at...

Thats my girls!

And then, we has...Turtle:

I'm convinced she has some sort of brain tumor that causes her to have an over-kill affection response to ANYTHING. She makes up for every unaffectionate-asshole-of-a-cat out there hundredfold. On top of that, she attempts to go home with anyone we have over to visit... I've given up on explanations, and instead I offer to conveniently box her up and send her home with our guests when they go home.

Wing-Nut: The latest addition to our family. Quite the little rascal. Hair-surfing is by far his most favorite activity. Eating comes in at a close second. Quite the little character...and steadily developing. (Oh, ya....thats me there, too. The one on the left.)

My abundance of snakes stems from my love of reptiles...particularly the ones without legs. The majority of my collection is ball pythons. The others include a pair of macklots pythons, two male brazilian rainbow boas, a pair of black sumatran short tailed pythons, and 3 african house snakes.

Orange Ghost Ball Python.

Oh, and a gecko. Y'know, the 'Geico' kind. Except, his car insurance advice is a little rusty...I wish I had an appropriate pic of him, but the little sucker moves so damned fast...

The hyoo-muns in the household include myself, and my BF Benji, who puts up with my abundant love of animals extremely well.

Thats us, in a nutshell.
